York hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, and also boasts two beautiful Theatres and countless live music venues.   The nightlife is varied and cosmopolitan and you will be spoilt for choice from the fantastic and varied choice of food available in the pubs, restaurants and bistros of York.  Whatever your taste in food, you are guaranteed to find something to satisfy your appetite - from the traditional to exotic tastes.

The shopping in York is excellent, with many unique boutiques offering designer clothes and unusual gifts and curios, as well as antique shops and jewellers.  Whatever your taste in shopping, you will enjoy strolling along streets such as the Shambles or Stonegate as York has so much to offer the serious shopper!  Most of the major chain stores have branches in the city centre too.  We also have a fantastic Designer Outlet on the outskirts of York, which is easily accessible by car and public transport.
